Duties & Responsibilities

The SecondMate assists the Master in vessel operations and has whatever duties delegatedto him/her by the Master:

Carry out watch keeping duties.

Commitmentto safety and company procedures in all tasks.

Assist theChief Officer and learn all aspects of his duties with a view to eventualpromotion.

Work underthe Master and Chief Mate's supervision.

Traincadets and deck crew.

Work ondeck as required.

Keep chartcorrections up to date and recorded.

Assist inmooring and unmooring of vessel in port and at offshore locations.


Line reporting and functionallinkage

Thisposition will report directly to the Master and tothe Chief Mate.

Experience

The SecondMate DPO shall have at least one (1) year offshore experience in the position.
Experience on MPSV vessels.
FULL DPCERTIFICATE (DPO) is a mandatory requirement to apply for this position.


Education

The SecondMate DPO shall be holding a OOW Unlimited license as minimum requirement.
Chief Mate license would be an asset.


Contract

Permanentcontract (1 year, renewed automatically at the end of the year)
Vessel – Evolution 802 in Nigeria
